CASE STUDY ADVISORY SERVICES - RAPID RIVER AQUA ADVENTURE CENTER
Objective is to make canoeing on wildwater accessible to a broad audience, every moment of the day throughout the year. Developed is a concept and feasibility study for an indoor wildwater stadium in the Netherlands that offers several activities like: two wildwater courses, canyoning, surfwave, kids-lazy-river, skimboarding and a terrace.
Initiator Wim Holdrinet asked Sportscene and Rob van Bommel for their support to develop the concept for Rapid River Aqua Adventure Center. One of the key recommendations was to facilitate several ‘outdoor‘ activities in an indoor facility. CASE STUDY VIDEO NEWS FLASHES - WORLD SERIES CANOE SLALOM 2009
The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and Australian Canoeing (AC) commissioned Sportscene to cover the Australian Open 2009 (World Series) and broadcast the daily news through video news flashes. Sportscene advised the AIS and AC to use You Tube as a medium besides authoring the videos for DVD.
After the event Sportscene produced a video overview of the event for the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Conference in Poland.
You can watch the You Tube Channel and the video news flashes here.
CASE STUDY YOU TUBE CHANNEL - AUSTRALIAN CANOEING
Australian Canoeing was probably the first national canoeing federation in the world that started to use You Tube as a medium to communicate with it's members and to provide the latest news through video news flashes. Sportscene built this channel that enabled a social network, which attracted people of all ages and groups: children, athletes and parents.
Younger people started to embed the video in their own social networks like Facebook and adding comments to the videos. It gave Australian Canoeing 'face' and like Ian Rowling (Bronze medal Barcelona Olympics) said:"Good stuff Australian Canoeing, these You Tube video flashes takes the sport to the people who can't get over to Nationals, its a great step forwards, keep up the good work."
CASE STUDY PHOTOGRAPHY - SEVERAL EXAMPLES
Sportscene's photos are also a good example that we really understand your sport and that it requires an eye different from how to look at the bigger and main stream sports. Our photos are used globally by: - Sports federations and institutes like Australian Canoeing, Australian Institute of Sport, Irish Canoe Union, etcetera
- Sponsors and manufacturers like Curves, British Airways, Randstad Holding, etcetera
- Magazines and websites like UK Slalom, Cumec Magazine, etcetera
- Numerous athletes to build their exposure and for their personal websites
So far Sportscene participated in one photo contest: the International Association for Sports Information (IASI) Spirit of Sport International Photographic Competition. This resulted in five photos being nominated:
