Gonzalo Melero

Gonzalo Melero was born in Unquera, Spain but lives in Madrid now. He studied History of Arts and Geography at uni and now works as a data analyst at the France Telecom Group.

Gonzalo started canoeing when he was 14 years old in 1988, mainly marathon and sprint. Currently he still competes at Master events and in 2012 he aims to finish in the top 15 at K1 1000. "Canoeing is deep in my blood", says Gonzalo. As an organiser Gonzalo was involved in 1995 World Cup Canoe Marathon in Unquera and the World Cup in Portugal where he was the English commentator.
