Heather Hankinson
After a particularly cold British winter slalom training in Nottingham in 2007, Heather Ceasar moved to Australia for sunshine, whitewater, and love. After three years training, a summer on the Australian U23 team, a wedding, and a year of full time work, Heather is looking for a new challenge.
‘I’ve always been interested in people’s stories and I’m really excited about this opportunity to write for Sportscene. I love that canoeing is such a diverse and international sport, and yet simultaneously has a real community feel. It’s what keeps me involved in the sport and I am hoping to capture that character in my writing for Sportscene.’
Heather will be covering various news items in the coming months as well as interviewing some of slalom’s top athletes as they train in Penrith in the lead up to the Oceania Championships in February.
