Seth Ashworth

There is probably not a lot we need to tell about Seth. This quote just says it all: "Kayaking is my whole life, I live and breath it." But we don't want to refrain from the rest there is to know about Seth, it's just too interesting.

Seth started kayaking when he was 11 and by age 16 it had taken over his life. Working as a kayak coach in the summers became a regular fixture between being at school. At age 18 he went to university to study Outdoor Activities Management, which really gave him more free time to go kayaking. In fact it was encouraged by both the lectures and course director who allowed him to take a short kayaking trip to Uganda during the middle of term-time.

After graduating University last year he headed straight from the UK to Austria to work as a raft guide and to take full advantage of the fantastic kayaking which surrounded the area where he worked and lived. He also competed in squirt kayak at the ICF Freestyle world Championships in Plattling, Germany in June. The live stream of the event - provided by Sportscene - meant meant some of his friends and family who couldn't attend still got to see him compete.

Seth just returned from a two and a half month Mexico trip, which has been a great experience as he travelled out alone from the UK and kayaked for the entire time with people who he barely new on extremely challenging whitewater.
